A District Consumer Protection Council (DCPC) is a statutory advisory body in India, headed by the District Collector, established under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) to promote, protect, and redress consumer rights at the local level, comprising government officials and non-officials to raise awareness and guide policy for consumer welfare. They act as a crucial link, meeting regularly to discuss issues, recommend actions, and help resolve grievances by collaborating with enforcement agencies, ensuring consumers' voices are heard and rights (like safety, information, choice) are upheld.
