Consumer Protection

(1) The Central consumer protection Council (Section 3)

Procedure for meetings of the central Council (sect-4)

(1) The central council shall meet as and when necessary, but at least one meeting of the council shall be held every year.

(2) The central council shall meet at such time and Place as the chairman may think fit and shall observe such procedure in a regard to the transaction of its business as may be Prescribed

The State Consumer Protection Councils (Section-6)

The State Govt Shall be by notification, establish a council to be known as the consumer protection Council to be known as the state Council.

The state council shall be an advisory council and consist of the following mam members, namely

(a) The minister incharge of consumer affairs in the state Govt who shall be its chairman.

(b) such a number of me other official or non official members representing such interests as may me Prescribed by me the state Govt.

 such No of other official or non official members, not exceeding ten (10), as may be nominated by the central Govt.

Meeting -

1) The state council shall meet as and when necessary but not less two meeting shall be held every year

2) The state council shall meet at such time and Place as the chairman may think fit and shall observe such procedure in regard to the transaction of its business as may be prescribed by the State Govt.

(Section 7) The object of every state council shall be to render advice on promotion and Protection of consumer rights under this act within the State.

3-District consum be prot council (Section 8)

The State Govt. shall establish for every district by notification a council to be known as the district consumer protection council to be known as the District council)

The District council shall be an advisory council and consist of the following members namely -

(a) The collector of the district (by whatever name called) who shall be its chairman-

(b) such number of other official and non official members representing such interests as may be prescribed by the stale Govt.

Meeting

The District council shall meet as and ushen necessary but not less than too meetings shall be held every year-

(Section-9) The objects of every District counal shell be to render advice on promotion and Protection of consumer rights under id this Act within the district.
